About

Our Mission

The Right to Know Campaign is built to confront a government that keeps too many secrets and to restore the public's fundamental right to know what its government knows — beginning with the most consequential information ever withheld from a free people. In a democracy, the Right to Know is not a request. It is the condition that makes self-government possible.

Our Vision

A democratic society in which the government's default posture toward information of public significance is transparency, not secrecy. A society in which classification serves its limited protective function and is never used to suppress foundational scientific knowledge, obstruct constitutional oversight, or deny citizens the information necessary for self-governance. A society in which the reality of UAP and NHI is openly acknowledged, scientifically investigated, and governed through accountable institutional frameworks.

Our Values

Transparency as the governing norm. Secrecy is sometimes necessary. It is never the default. Every classification must be justified, time-limited, and subject to independent review.

Democratic accountability. The public and its elected representatives have a right to know what their government is doing — especially when the information withheld concerns the nature of reality itself.

Scientific integrity. Understanding UAP and NHI requires rigorous, open, peer-reviewed scientific investigation — not the suppression of inquiry through stigmatization and over-classification.

Dignity for experiencers. Individuals who have had direct encounters with UAP and NHI deserve institutional recognition, appropriate healthcare, legal protection, and a voice in the policies that affect them.

Fairness in reconciliation. Many who participated in maintaining secrecy did so under institutional direction and in what they believed was service to the nation. The path forward must create conditions for cooperation and truth-telling while treating individuals fairly.

Nonpartisan commitment. UAP transparency is not a partisan issue. The Right to Know Campaign works across party lines and welcomes support from all who share its objectives, regardless of political affiliation.

A Campaign, Not a Network

The Right to Know Campaign is designed as a cooperative effort — a shared cause that organizations and individuals can join without subordinating their identity, their mission, or their autonomy. We provide the political infrastructure: legislative strategy, congressional relationships, coalition coordination, public communications, and the organizational architecture necessary to sustain pressure across election cycles and administration changes. Our partners provide what we cannot build alone: scientific credibility, investigative journalism, experiencer advocacy, grassroots energy, legal expertise, and international reach.

What distinguishes this campaign from prior efforts is simple: it applies the tools of professional political advocacy — the same tools that have won legislative fights on every other issue — to a cause that has never had them. The disclosure movement has always had passionate supporters. It has never had a sustained, funded, strategically coordinated political operation. That is what the Right to Know Campaign is built to be.

The Right to Know Institute

The Right to Know Institute (RTKI) is the Campaign's policy and education arm, organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and launched as an incubator project of the John Mack Institute. RTKI develops the governing case for disclosure through policy analysis, white papers, and draft legislative frameworks. It provides nonpartisan research and analysis that policymakers, media, and academics can reference with credibility. It conducts public education and convenes expert discussions on UAP, NHI, government transparency, and related issues.

How We Work

The Right to Know Campaign operates on the principle that the UAP secrecy regime is a political problem requiring a political solution. Understanding the phenomenon is essential. Building public awareness is important. But disclosure will not occur until the political costs of continued secrecy exceed the political costs of transparency. Our work is designed to create that condition.

Policy and Legislative Development. We develop rigorous, legislatively grounded frameworks for disclosure — not aspirational wish lists but concrete proposals that address the real institutional, legal, and political obstacles to transparency. Our policy work is anchored in the evidentiary record, informed by historical precedent, and designed to withstand scrutiny from policymakers, legal scholars, and skeptics alike.

Coalition Building. The secrecy regime has endured for eight decades in part because the organizations and individuals advocating for transparency have worked in isolation. The Right to Know Campaign is designed to change that — providing a cooperative framework in which diverse organizations contribute their strengths while maintaining their independence. Researchers, advocates, journalists, experiencer support networks, scientists, legal scholars, and citizens all have roles to play. Our job is to coordinate those efforts into sustained political pressure.

Grassroots Mobilization. Elected officials respond to constituent pressure. The Campaign equips citizens with the tools and information they need to contact their representatives, demand transparency, and hold lawmakers accountable for their positions on disclosure. When transparency becomes an issue that affects elections, the political calculus changes.

Public Education. Informed advocacy requires informed advocates. The Campaign produces research, analysis, and educational resources that enable citizens, journalists, and policymakers to engage with the UAP issue based on evidence rather than speculation. We are committed to factual, nonpartisan, evidence-based communication that respects the intelligence of our audience.

International Engagement. UAP operate across international boundaries, and the secrecy surrounding them is not confined to any single nation. The Campaign supports international legislative cooperation.
